Special People
“You became part of our extended family. We would especially like to thank the staff that was with [our mother] at the end. It was a great comfort to us to know she was not alone. . . It takes special people to do your job, and do it well!”

Kind and Generous Ways
I continue to be impressed with the care and service I receive during my visits to St. Mary's for the births of my children. I gave birth to my third daughter, Morgan, on October 17, 2007. Each team of nurses exhibited such care, concern and compassion for me, as well as offered genuine support, enthusiasm and celebration of Morgan's birth. I appreciate the kind and generous ways of the St. Mary's nursing teams: those who welcomed me in the triage area, those who cared for me as I came out of general anesthesia, and those who tended to me in the family birth center. Katie V. (day-time nurse), Kristi (day-time nurse), Lisa (night nurse) were exceptional. I also enjoyed Melanie's lessons with breast-feeding. She also exceeded my expectations of a lactation consultant.

It was bittersweet departing at the end of my stay since it was so enjoyable due to the efforts of the St. Mary's staff.

Sing Her Praises
“I had been told I would never walk with a cane until I had my other knee done – until I met Barb. She is the reason I am walking with a cane now. I can’t sing her praises enough. She is one of the kindest, caring, knowledgeable people I have come into contact with in the medical profession.”

An Angel
“In seeking medical care for my mom, I have too often been angered and frustrated by an attitude toward the elderly that says they are not worth listening to or attending to simply because they are old. Throughout the entire visit, Dr. Ehab Kaiser demonstrated respect for my mom’s dignity and her right to a quality life. . . We both felt we had encountered an angel.”

A Patient Not a Number
“From the person at the front desk who registered me, Sharon, to the nurse that took my history, vital signs and inserted the HEPLOCK, Pam, to the OR nurse, Bonnie . . . To Dr. Shekar, Linda, RN, in the post-anesthesia recovery area, and Bryan who walked me out of The Center, everyone needs to be congratulated for doing their jobs above and beyond what is expected. . . It is so wonderful to be treated as a patient and not a number.”

A Patient and A Human Being
“The staff was professional and caring. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by five excellent nurses: Jayne, Emily, April, Brenda and Debbie. I felt secure under their care. I truly felt their compassion for me as a patient and a human being.”

Top Notch
“Our ER nurse was top-notch. His name is Todd, and he is everything a nurse should be. He is quick, yet caring. . .smart and funny!! He knew all of the answers to our questions. I venture to say he is the best nurse we have ever had anywhere!! I think he does his homework!! Todd, I thank you for being our nurse. . .our friend.”

Caring, Professional Hospital
“We cannot say enough good about how well [my husband] was cared for during his stay with you. . . We have never been in such a caring, professional hospital as Bone & Joint. . . The touching gesture of having a flower in a vase in the room was beyond anything we have ever experienced.”
